Changes in the 2000s

In the first decade of the 21st century, the track was built at the River Campus, and major additions to the west side of the original building were completed. In 2001, the board approved a capital campaign, "The Campaign for Arts and Letters," to construct a visual arts center and library. The Christine Slayden Tibbot center for the Visual Arts and Hassenfeld Library opened in 2003 and 2004, respectively. Soon after, in 2012, renovation and expansion of the Sperling Cafeteria was completed.
