The Serious Sixties
Clubs debuting in the Sixties indicated a somewhat serious-minded student body. An increased interest in government and politics brought about the formation of the Young Republicans and Young Democrats clubs, both organizations enjoying a robust membership. Also popular was the Riding Club. Shortlived additions included a Riflery Club in 1963 and a Russian Club in 1960.
